We have a photo problem - our digital camera sucks! at taking inside pictures so we have very few winter pictures of our bubba!

Ok, so the weird one with me is when he had the chickenpox (he had croup at the same time :(), isn't he a babe!

Next post!

Hi, I'm trying to attach some pics for your viewing pleasure!
It worked! These pics are up until he was 4 months old. That's Martin's grandpa holding him in Edmonton last Sept. More pics to follow!

I Bet You Thought You'd Never Hear From Me Again

Ok, Ok,
I can't believe I haven't written for more than a year. Of course, nothing much has happened in that year, right? Oh, wait. A couple of things happened. What were they again?
Oh, right, a baby, a boy. Premature by a month, on oxygen. in hospital for a 11 days. But really really cute. And healthy.
Oh, what did my cousin Julie call it? BABYSHOCK. I love being a parent. But I didn't know it'd be so hard!

Life has been good the past year, but really hard. I had some post-partum depression in the fall when Jacob stopped sleeping much. Then I learned to deal, which is good because he's still not sleeping well. I've tried 'crying it out' but that DOESN'T WORK. We've tried what I called Radical Sleep Training, and even had my mom come out here to help (note to self: grandmas are wimps about sleep training - they just think you need to pick them up and give them another bottle!) Anyways things were going much better after that, until Jacob got pneumonia about a month ago, and had to go into hospital just before Easter. He's better now, but seems to be having 'night terrors' now, presumably because of the trauma?

I've given up thinking 'we'll have another baby once he sleeps'. Ha! I don't think he'll sleep through the night ever, so forget that plan. Someone I was talking to about this put it best the other day - she said 'sleep is over-rated'. I guess that explains why I'm writing this at 5:30am!

Anyways, I'm still alive and kicking. I'm hoping to post to pictures here, if I figure that out. I'm back in school, part-time, and Jacob is in daycare 2 days a week, which I thought I would hate but I actually *love* because it gives me a bit of time for myself. Jacob has just learned to crawl so we're busy following him around, but it's really fun.

He LOVES music (where'd that come from?), and dances everytime a jingle comes on the radio or TV, side-to-side style like Ashley did. I have NO IDEA when we'll be coming out to visit you all - hopefully soon, but unlikely because we're burned out from travelling by plane. We're driving to Charleston, SC next week for a beach holiday, which should be AWESOME.

that's all for now. xoxo your cousin!
